Chapter 01 · Proof

DDetailing: a quote-first site for a mobile detailer

Dominik Detailing is an independent mobile car detailer in London. I designed and built ddetailing.co.uk around one job: make asking for a quote quick for the customer and simple for the owner to handle.

Ask

A mobile detailer's work is visual, so the site had to look premium and custom. It also had to turn visitors into quote requests quickly, and let the owner deal with them without learning new software.

And it had to avoid promising time slots the owner cannot keep. A detail is not a fixed-length job: a heavily contaminated car simply takes longer.

Delivery

  • Quote first, not a calendar widget. A customer sends service, extras, car, address and the time they would like. It is a request, not a confirmed slot, and nothing is charged.
  • Prices are shown as starting prices, and the page says so. Larger or dirtier cars are extras the customer can add up front, so there is no surprise at the end.
  • Built for a phone first. The journey is short: start the request on the homepage, finish it on the booking page and land on a clear thank-you page.
  • The owner logs in to a private admin page. A new request arrives by email, each job has a plain status, and he can propose a different time, add private notes and confirm the job.
  • A ready-written WhatsApp message can be prepared for the customer from the request.
  • Services, prices, extras, areas covered and photos are edited from a settings page, and the public site follows.

Takeaway

The owner checks each request by hand and replies within 24 hours to confirm or suggest a closer time, so a customer can never grab a slot he cannot keep.

Local search groundwork is part of the build, not an add-on: structured data for the business, its services and its common questions, and an llms.txt summary for AI search tools.

Chapter 02 · Who

Who this is for

Owners of small and local businesses in Luton and across Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire. You are often busy running the business, so the website has to do its job without you: show what you do, what it costs, and make it easy to ask.

  • Detailers
  • Cleaners
  • Gardeners
  • Electricians
  • Plumbers
  • Decorators
  • Mobile mechanics
  • Dog groomers
  • Personal trainers

I also cover Dunstable, Harpenden, St Albans, Hitchin, Leighton Buzzard and Milton Keynes, and work with clients anywhere in the UK.

Chapter 03 · Why a one-person studio

You talk to the person who builds it

No account manager in between

I work solo, so the person on the call is the person who designs and builds your site. Nothing is passed along to a team.

Online or in person

Calls are online, and I can meet in person around Luton. The weekly written updates and previews come online. Nothing is charged before we have talked.

Built to be found locally

Search tools and AI assistants read plain text, areas covered and structured data. I build that groundwork in, so your site says clearly what you do and where. Your Google Business Profile stays in your hands, and your site should say the same thing it does.

Fixed prices, in writing

Scope, exclusions, timeline and fee are agreed in writing before the build starts, at the prices below.

Chapter 04 · What you get

What you get, and what it costs

  1. Launch

    £795 · Launch Partner rate until 12 December 2026

One focused, responsive page with one main action, such as asking for a quote. Good for a new business or a single service. The partner rate is in return for permission to document the process and the result. A Launch client gets a £200 credit toward a later build.

  2. Website

    From £995 · typically 1 to 2 weeks

One to three custom-designed pages in your brand, for example home, services and contact. Mobile-first build, contact form and basic SEO. Two consolidated feedback rounds and weekly updates and previews.

  3. Platform

    From £1,795 · typically 3 to 5 weeks

Up to six pages and two CMS collections, so you can edit your own content. Includes a design system and one booking or email workflow, such as appointment booking.

  4. App / Marketplace

    Scoped from £2,500

For anything with accounts, payments or custom workflows at its core. Release and milestones are agreed in writing.

Extras and care

Appointments and booking, language routing and search and filtering are each from £400 as extras. After launch, Website Care is £99 a month for 1 hour and Platform Care is £189 a month for 3 hours.

These are the prices on the services page, where you can also build an estimate.

Chapter 05 · Process

How it works

  1. A free 20 minute fit call

We talk about your business and what the site needs to do. Nothing is charged first.

  2. Paid discovery, only if needed

If important unknowns remain, Strategy & Scope (£350) settles them before a proposal.

  3. A written scope

Scope, exclusions, timeline and fee, in writing.

  4. Build with weekly updates

For Website and Platform, 50% books your start date. You get weekly written updates and previews, with calls at review milestones.

  5. Launch and handover

The balance is due within seven calendar days of launch, then files, documentation and account access are handed over.

  6. 30 days of aftercare

After that, monthly care is optional.
